This is a Giant Round Robin Tournament played in 2 stages. The winners of each of the second stage groups will then play cross-over finals for prizes available at each of the four levels.
Open to all members of the USATT. Non-members may join the USATT by including the membership fee with their entry fee. Players who are not current USATT members may buy a tournament pass for $20. Unless an estimated rating is supplied, vouched for by a USATT Coach or Official, any unrated players entering will be placed at the bottom seeds of the original RR Groups. Unrated players will be able to play in both the first and second Round Robin Stages, but – in all but the “A”-Group – will be unable to advance to the cross-over Finals; and thus, unable to win those prizes.
Tournament Venue and Health Details
Playing venue is a 66′ x 60′ x 24′ high, brightly lit gymnasium (600 lumens on the featured tables); arranged with six, equally sized, fully barriered courts of 32’x16′, and a further 2:32’x16′ courts on an upper floor. The floor is a white tiled gym floor over wood, and wood in the upper area. Tournament balls will be ORANGE, 3-star Nittaku Premium 40+ plastic balls. Butterfly Centerfold 25 tables, and Butterfly Europa nets will be used. Clothing must be mainly non-orange. There will also be a further three warm-up tables available all day in the upper area. All finals will be played in the Main Hall on the one of four 40′ x 20′ feature tables.
Only participants along with 1 (one) coach or parent will be allowed inside the playing hall. Players should not come if feeling sick or having a cough. Players will be temperature checked before entering the Main Hall and should frequently wash their hands/use the hand sanitizer available on site. We ask all people to maintain 6-foot social distance in the Playing Hall. Finally, players should not change ends between games nor shake hands at the end of matches.
Stage 1 will comprise of the 48 players seeded into twelve groups of 4. Each group will comprise of an ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, & ‘D’ designated player. Players will be ‘snake-seeded’ into the appropriate group based on their USATT ranking on Thursday, May 27th, 2021. The top USATT rated player will be placed as 1st seed in the ‘A’ level; all other players being placed in descending order below that 1st seed based on USATT rating, until the lowest rated players is placed as the 12th seed in the ‘D’ level. With seeding re-assessed solely on the results of Stage 1, Stage 2 will comprise of the players being placed in one of 2:6 player Round Robin groups at each of the four levels. Groups comprised as follows:
Seeds 1,4,5,8,9 & 12 in group ‘A1’
Seeds 2,3,6,7,10, & 11 in in group ‘A2’
Seedings for Groups ‘B’, ‘C’, & ‘D’ groups will follow an identical format. Finally, the winners and runners-up of each of the two groups in each of the 4 levels will play cross-over Semi-Finals and, then, a Final to determine group positions for the prizes detailed below. There will be no 3rd place playoff games. In the event of the low entry, the Tournament Director and Referee reserve the right to modify the size of the groups in the initial two stages.

Start time for all players will be 9:00 am. Hall will open for the check-in/practice at 8:00am with 11 tables being available for warm-up. Every player must report to the control desk by 8:45am latest.
Stage 2 start time should be approximately 1:00pm. with approximately 1 hour being allowed for lunch between stages 1 & 2. Crossover will follow immediately following the conclusion of Stage 2, and should start at approximately 6pm.
Entries must be postmarked by Thursday, May 20th, 2021 or entered online on tt charlotte website or www.omnipong.com by Wednesday, May 26th 2021 and must be accompanied by payment to be considered valid.
